Liz O’Riordan

Liz O’Riordan trained in oncoplastic breast surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. In 2015 she was appointed consultant in oncoplastic surgery at Ipswich Hospital in Suffolk.
Two years into that job she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then she has blogged and created podcasts on the subject, as well as co-writing a self-help book for breast cancer patients and talking to physicians all over the world about how to improve patient care.
She retired from her surgical job following a recurrence of the disease. Her memoir Under the Knife was published in 2023.
She is a keen sportswoman and is passionate about promoting the benefits of exercise for cancer patients.
